Maintenance

Just like getting your teeth cleaned twice a year or changing your oil every 3000 miles, we offer basic maintenance services to suit your requirements. Its much better to “keep up” rather than “catch up” when it comes to basic sealing and cleaning services. It will almost always be more expensive in the long run if you put-off maintenance.

  • Commercial Maintenance

Restoration

No matter how much people hope that natural stone floors were free of maintenance, that simply is untrue. These surfaces are extremely durable, but even they can be damaged in the normal course of daily living. A stone floor may seem bulletproof, but drop a heavy object on it and it could crack. It is possible to leave a scratch simply from sliding a piece of furniture across the floor. The bar stools at your kitchen island can dull the stone flooring beneath them. The blowing sands of Southern Utah can scratch your floor. Acid sensitive stones can be damaged by food, drinks, beauty products and even your pets if you aren’t vigilant. A contractor working in your home can accidentally damage your flooring. Even a well-meaning cleaning company can cause damage to your floors simply by using the wrong product. The good news is that all of these things can be restored by the experts at Suva Tile.

Restoration Services we Provide:

  • Grinding & Polishing to your desired Finish
  • Stone & Tile Replacement
  • Scratch Removal
  • Etch Removal
  • Lippage Removal (uneven stones)
  • Chip Repairs

Cleaning

All floors get dirty with normal usage.

Travertine, Marble and Limestone floors get dirty just like every other flooring type. Unlike ceramic or porcelain tiles, natural stone flooring requires different cleaning techniques. The majority stone flooring is easily damaged by using the wrong chemical cleaner. We have the experience to know the difference, leaving you with a clean floor you can be happy with once again.

Kitchen and bathroom countertops get dirty as well.

We utilize high temperature steam to sanitize each countertop as well as removing all mineral and hard water deposits. This ensures that not only is the surface free of germs, but it looks great as well.

For those who have porcelain or ceramic tiles, usually the grout lines get dirty way before the surface of the tile does. At Suva Tile we can clean both surfaces all in one go with our unparalleled cleaning process. Home furniture that must be moved and cleaned underneath gets returned to its original location. Once the floor is clean, we suggest the application of a sealer to keep your floor looking good and make your routine cleanings easier.

Sealing

The majority of the grout used today is porous as is virtually all natural stones. This means that those surfaces will easily soak up any liquid when they get wet. Water spills are no problem, but how about drink, food, children or pet accidents? All of those fluids can quickly and easily cause serious harm. You can’t stop the joys of life from taking place so the next best thing is to guard these porous surfaces with the application of a sealer. There are many types of sealers. Generally they belong to one of several basic categories: water based or solvent based, topical or penetrating, clear or color enhancing or color changing. Your particular preferences and circumstances will allow us to identify the most suitable choice of sealer for your situation. We all inform you of all the different options and help you make the best choice for your home.

Sealing Services:

  • Remove a sealer or coating you do not like (stripping)
  • Seal and change the color of your grout (color seal)
  • Seal the surface of your stone and make it shine (topical sealer)
  • Seal the surface of your stone and maintain the natural look (clear penetrating sealer)
  • Seal the surface of your stone and bring out more of the natural colors (enhancing penetrating or topical sealer)
  • Seal without changing the grout color (clear penetrating sealer)

Polishing

Natural stones possess many distinct properties. The ones in your home are at least 20 million years old. They can polished to a mirror like finish, or they can dull without any shine whatsoever. Depending on the style of your home and your personal preference, most times the same stone can be customized to your taste. Natural stones can be shined in a number of ways. For the longest lasting and most beautiful finish we at Suva Tile opt for using the “old school” method of polishing. This method has proven to stand the test of time. This strategy does not use any chemicals to alter the stone, but rather a series of diamonds is used to polish the surface to your desired result. We only use diamonds and water to guarantee that no dust is produced.

What can we polish:

  • Counter Tops
  • Bathroom Vanities
  • Tub Surrounds
  • Floors

Inspection Services

David Bonasera have been involved with consulting and expert witness testimony for the past 20 years. This happens when the client has a contractor that installs tile or stone and the project takes a turn and there is a problem with the installation whether it be cracking tiles, yellowing white marble tiles, substrate failures, or a loose floor because of the lack of proper bonding. I use tile and stone Forensics to check moisture, looking to walls, infrared technology, sound testing, deflection, and proper installation of tile and stone according to ANSI, TCNA, and NSI standards. Dave helps write practices for the natural stone industry as part of the technical committee for the NSI, (National Stone Institute).
