A common misunderstanding is the natural stones used in your home are a maintenance free surface. These materials are extremely durable, but even they can be damaged in the course of normal daily living. Dropping a heavy object can result in damaged stone. Moving a couch or piece of furniture across the floor can leave a scratch. The chairs in your dining room can dull the stone flooring underneath them. The blowing sands of Southern Utah can scratch your floor. Acid sensitive stones can be damaged by food, drinks, beauty products and even your pets if you aren’t careful. A contractor working in your home can accidentally damage your flooring. A cleaning company can use the wrong product and cause damage. Lucky for you Suva Tile are restoration experts and can address all of these problems.
Restoration Services we Provide:
- Scratch Removal
- Stone & Tile Replacement
- Lippage Removal (uneven stones)
- Etch Removal
- Grinding & Polishing to your desired Finish

All floors get dirty with regular usage.
When you have natural stone floors such as Travertine, Marble, or Limestone, those floors get dirty as well. Natural stone flooring is different from ceramic or porcelain tiles and requires a very different cleaning approach. Most stone flooring is easily damaged by using the wrong chemical cleaner. We have the experience to recognize the difference, leaving you with a clean floor you can be happy with once again.
Kitchen and bathroom countertops get dirty as well.
Besides removing the hard water and mineral deposits, we sanitize each countertop with high temperature steam. This makes sure the surface not only looks wonderful but is germ free as well!
If you have porcelain or ceramic tiles, in general the grout lines get soiled long before the surface of the tile does. At Suva Tile we can clean both surfaces all in one go with our unparalleled cleaning process. Furniture that must be moved and cleaned under gets returned to its original location. We usually suggest applying a sealer to keep your floor looking good for longer and make subsequent cleanings easier.
Most of the grout used nowadays is porous as is all natural stones. Therefore when these surfaces get wet they can soak up virtually any liquid rather easily. Water spills are no problem, but how about drink, food, children or pet accidents? All of those fluids can easily cause severe damage. For this reason we specifically suggest the application of a sealer to guard against these accidents. Having said that, they several variations of sealers. Sealers can be water or solvent based, topical or penetrating, clear or color enhancing or color changing. There’s really no single “best sealer” to use, it all depends on your particular circumstances and preferences. We all inform you of all the different options and help you make the very best choice for your home.
- Seal the surface of your stone and maintain the natural look (clear penetrating sealer)
- Seal without changing the grout color (clear penetrating sealer)
- Seal and change the color of your grout (color seal)
- Seal the surface of your stone and bring out more of the natural colors (enhancing penetrating or topical sealer)
- Remove a sealer or coating you do not like (stripping)
- Seal the surface of your stone and make it shine (topical sealer)

Natural stones are unique in a number of ways. Chances are the stones in your home are 20 million years old or more. They can polished to a mirror like finish, or they can dull without any shine whatsoever. Depending on the style of your home and your personal preference, most times the same stone can be customized to your taste. Natural stones can be shined in numerous ways. For the longest lasting and most beautiful finish we at Suva Tile opt for using the “old school” technique of polishing. This strategy has proven to stand the test of time. This process does not use any chemicals to alter the stone, but instead a series of diamonds is used to polish the surface to your desired outcome. No dust is produced and we use only diamonds and water.
What can we polish:
- Bathroom Vanities
- Counter Tops
- Tub Surrounds
David Bonasera have been involved in consulting and expert witness testimony for the past twenty years. This happens when the customer has a contractor that installs tile or stone and the job goes south and there is an issue with the installation such as cracking tiles, yellowing white marble tiles, substrate failures, or a loose floor because of the lack of proper bonding. I use tile and stone Forensics to check moisture, looking to walls, infrared technology, sound testing, deflection, and proper installation of tile and stone according to ANSI, TCNA, and NSI guidelines. Dave helps write benchmarks for the natural stone industry as part of the technical committee for the NSI, (National Stone Institute).
We have restored everything from polished marble bird feeders to the restoration of the 15 foot x 127 foot glass mosaic mural located at Dixie State University here in St. George, Utah. If you can dream it, we can make it a reality.
