Travertine Floor with Pebble Pathway

St. George, Utah

Every February in St. George Utah, the Southern Utah Home Builders Association hosts The St. George Parade of Homes. This popular event showcases some of the finest homes in the area. This particular home was featured several years ago and continues to be one of the most unique and finely crafted homes around. Running through the main living area is a "pathway of pebbles" surrounded by a smooth travertine floor. The design and textural differences between the two surfaces blend perfectly with the architecture of the home. Warm & friendly, this is a home you want to spend time in. From a flooring perspective, we needed to treat the two surfaces differently. The travertine is much "softer" than the pebbles and needed to be polished to remove the scratches. The grout holding the pebbles in place had a large amount of dirt that needed to be thoroughly cleaned. Once both surfaces were restored, a stone specific sealer was applied to both, making routine cleanings much easier. I am proud to say that Suva Tile was selected to work on this spectactular home, as it is one of my favorites.
